Long Beach is, well what can I say but a giant oil refinery with a beach attached. There are oil pumps everywhere. Backyards, shopping centers……

Just outside the campground. Good invigorating smog.
I must say the weather has been nice. Sometimes I can even see the sky.
Down town Los Angeles. I think that blue sky is an anomaly!
We ride our bikes on the bike path to the beach quite often. It’s a nice 12 mile stretch. We like to walk around the tourist area and admire the sights.
The Queen Mary museum in Long Beach harbor, snuggled up to some petroleum refineries.
Long Beach aims to please all.
I think the “BIG” relates well to Dean’s personality.
It has been an educational month but I do believe we are ready to move on. Next week we head up to Santa Paula. It is only 90 miles up the coast but in citrus country rather than petroleum.
I know my lungs will thank me.

We mentioned that Jan and I and Tom & Donna would love to get together with you guys on the way back to Canada, and that if that could happen in early April around Zion or Bryce or wherever, that would be great.
