Actually these pics are from a sandcastle competition on the coast of New Hampshire.
We had to stop at LL Bean in Maine. This Flagship store is huge and open 24/7. I wanted to buy this frying pan but Dean put his foot down.
Maine is very pretty. Not many sandy beaches, but a much more interesting rocky coastline. Light houses galore.
A day of heavy fog and rain. Good job we had some books to read.
I love these eastern “mountains”. A hop and skip to the peak. We are really enjoying exploring the little harbors.
Acadia National Park was very nice, although way too many people. At least we got to knock another National Park off our list. On the West coast we would call this mountain a hill.
There seem to be quite a few yellow mushrooms in Maine.
Finally, Dean got his wish and ate some Maine lobster which I hear is supposed to be top notch. Of course Rose will not eat creepy crawly stuff but watching Dean scarf down 2 lobsters was enjoyment enough. We bought 2 (about 2.5 lbs) at the local co-op for around $13.
The flowers are blooming in Maine, yippee. The coastal iris and roses are especially lovely. I think Dean looks pretty good with his new sun hat. Gotta protect that noggin.
Ahh more flowers.
We had a lovely time visiting and hiking with our good friends Deb and Bill. They live full-time in a longer posher version of our motorhome.
Still in Maine.
Beautiful!!!!!
Thanks Tina.
So glad you are enjoying Maine. We have loved our visits there. I hope you can visit the little town of Castine while you are along the coast. Eat lobster bisque and blueberry pie whenever available:-). Nice pictures!
Gosh, already past Castine. Heading to Lubec. Hope to try the pie here.
Looks like your having a very enjoyable trip. Its been very hot here in Hood River, 95+ for like 10 days now,
Don’t think we had a day over 75 since getting to Maine. Keep that air running.
Looks like a great time. Not sure who was eating who! That was a huge lobster!
Dean enjoyed that lobster so much we are looking to repeat the fun.
